A close rate means little without something to compare it to. This tracker compares you to your own recent past, using a rolling three-month rate to smooth out the lumpy months, so you can tell a real change from noise.
What's inside
- Monthly close rate and average ticket
- A rolling three-month rate
- A chart of the trend
Set it up
- Delete the sample rows. They're marked as sample data.
- At the end of each month, add one row: estimates sent, jobs won, and revenue from those jobs.
- Watch the rolling rate more than the monthly one. One slow month is weather; three is a trend.
There's no industry benchmark in this sheet on purpose. Published averages vary widely by trade, price point, and how a business counts an estimate. Your own trend is the number that's actually comparable.
Using it in Google Sheets

- Right-click it and choose Open with, then Google Sheets.
- Use File, then Save as Google Sheets so you have an editable copy.
It works the same in Excel. The numbers in the preview above are made-up sample data, there only to show what the sheet looks like when it's in use.
