This adds a written summary to the Monday Money Report. It uses the same workbook (Leads, Estimates and Invoices tabs), works out the numbers itself, and has the AI write a short summary on top, ending with the one thing to do first. The AI only writes the summary. The numbers come from your sheet and can't be changed by it.
Import it into n8n
The short lesson
- Why it matters
- A number means more with a sentence that says what it means and what to do about it.
- Common mistake
- Letting the AI do the arithmetic. Calculate in formulas or code, and let the AI only explain.
- Next step
- Move the numbers into a live dashboard with the same summary on top.
What's inside
- An n8n workflow that emails a weekly summary and the numbers
- Uses the same workbook as the Monday Money Report
- The numbers are calculated, not written by the AI
- The prompt, to use in any other tool
What it does
- Every Monday morning it reads your Leads, Estimates and Invoices sheets.
- It calculates what's overdue, which estimates are going cold, which leads weren't answered, and how the week compares.
- The AI writes four or five plain sentences about it, ending with the one thing to do first.
- You get one email: the summary, then the exact numbers.
Set it up
Pick the path that matches the tools you already use.
- Download the workflow file from the box on this page. It's a .json file.
- In n8n, create a new workflow, open the ⋯ menu at the top right, and choose Import from file. Pick the file you downloaded.
- Nodes that need a login show a warning. Click each one and connect your own account. n8n walks you through it.
- Open the node called Settings and replace the sample values with yours.
- Click Execute workflow to run it once with test data and check what comes out.
- When you're happy with it, switch the workflow to Active.

Use the same file as the Monday Money Report. Point each Read node at its own tab.
Using Claude, Gemini or another model instead of OpenAI? Delete the model node under each AI step, add the one you want, and drag its connector into the AI step.

This is exactly what the n8n file sends to the AI. Square brackets are the details your tool fills in for each customer.
Instructions to the AI
You write the opening of a Monday report for the owner of [business]. Rules: - Use only the numbers provided. Never invent a number, a cause or a trend. - 4 or 5 plain sentences. Mention the biggest overdue amount, how many estimates are going cold, and how the week compares to the week before. - End with one line that starts "Do this first:" and names the single most valuable action from the data. - No hype, no emojis. Return only the text.
What you send it each time
Numbers: [metrics]
Test it before it touches a customer
- Run it on the sample rows in the workbook and compare the numbers with the sheet.
- Read the summary. Every figure in it should be one of the numbers below it.
- Change a row, run again, and check the summary follows the change.
When you'll outgrow this
This is the right size for most small businesses. These are the signs it's time for something sturdier.
- You want the numbers straight from a CRM and accounting software with no sheet to maintain.
- You want a dashboard people can open, not only an email.
- More people need reports, each with their own view.
